Jeremy is a Grade 6/7 classroom teacher in the Nanaimo and Ladysmith Public Schools District (68). He has taught elementary and high school students in bricks-and-mortar schools, and taught online in a blended distributed learning high school. He is a University of British Columbia graduate student in the Masters of Educational Technology program and due to graduate in December 2013.
Jeremy’s focus in the classroom is providing a culturally responsive education through social-constructivist methodologies that leverage technology to enhance learning.
Jeremy demonstrates his commitment to life-long learning through continual, informal professional development. Much of this is done as a connected educator though his social media personal learning network (PLN); and attending or presenting at workshops and EdCamps. He also co-moderates the #BCedChat discussions every Sunday at 7:00 PST/PDT which aim to connect BC educators and facilitate pedagogical best practices through learning and sharing together.
